The Ukrainian parliament Tuesday gave the green light for Malaysia's investigation team to go to the crash site of Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 as part of an international recovery operation.
The approval, which allows Malaysian experts to join investigators from Australia and Netherlands, was backed by 311 lawmakers in Ukraine's 450-seat assembly, Xinhua reported.
However, the number of the investigators and police guards of the Malaysian investigation team that will work on the site should not exceed 90.
On July 31, Dutch and Australian experts started their work at the crash site of MH17 to examine the area and recover the remaining bodies of the victims.
The recovery mission was stopped until further notice six days later due to the deteriorating security conditions in the area, triggered by fierce fighting between Ukrainian forces and independence-seeking insurgents not far from the site.
Flight MH17, a Boeing 777, was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it crashed after being hit by a missile in Ukraine near the Russian border July 17, killing all 298 passengers and crew on board.
