UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman arrived in Sri Lanka on Wednesday for a three-day visit on the peace building process, the UN office here said.
Feltman held discussions with Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ravi Karunanayake on Wednesday. He is also expected to meet other government officials and the leadership of Sri Lanka's main opposition party, the Tamil National Alliance, reports Xinhua news agency.
Following his 2015 visit, Feltman arrived in Sri Lanka to take stock of the peace progress in the country.
The Under-Secretary-General will also travel to the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka and meet with representatives of the diplomatic community, civil society and religious leadership, the UN said.
