Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced financial assistance of Rs 50,000 each to those seriously injured and Rs 25,000 each to those suffering minor injuries in the rail accident in Rampur on Saturday.
Terming the derailment as saddening he has directed officials to ensure prompt and adequate treatment for those injured in the accident.
The Chief Minister has also asked Minister of State for Irrigation Baldev Singh Aulakh to reach the accident site and oversee rescue and relief operations.
More than three dozen people were injured in the accident involving the Rajya Rani Express train in which eight coaches derailed.
