Uttar Pradesh has not completed construction of a single road or spent a penny under the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-II since its launch in 2013, the ministry of rural development said on Thursday.
According to the government data, out of 252 roadworks sanctioned for the state having a length of 1,913 km, completion of the number of roadworks and length of roadworks (up to June 2015) is zero.
Telangana has completed construction of just one road under PMGSY-II and length of roadworks completed was 11 km, Minister of State for Rural Development Sudarshan Bhagat said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
The PMGSY-II was launched in May 2013 for upgradation of existing selected rural roads based on a prescribed criterion to consolidate the rural road network and improve its overall efficiency.
