Uttarakhand youth dies after falling into Ganga

A youth has died after falling into the river Ganga in Pauri district of Uttarakhand, police said.

Ashish Jaldi, 22, a resident of Kotdwar area fell into the waters late on Sunday apparently after losing balance. He was at the Mastram ghat in Lakshman Jhula area when the incident happened.

The state water police divers had immediately launched a search operation. Within half-an-hour, Jaldi was brought out of the river but the doctor declared him dead by the time he was shifted to a hospital.
