Valencia have opened disciplinary proceedings and provisionally suspended their Algerian midfielder Sofiane Feghouli, the Spanish football club said in a statement on Monday.
"During the processing of said procedure, and awaiting the resolution of the matter, the player will be suspended as a cautionary measure, in accordance with the current convention between the AFE and Liga de Futbol Profesional," said the note.
The midfielder player's contract ends on June 30, without any agreement for renewal, reports Efe.
After the match a week ago in Las Palmas, Feghouli traveled to Paris and a problem with his flight prevented him from arriving in time to attend his side's training last Tuesday.
The club did not refer to this incident in the statement announcing the decision to suspend the player.
