National Conference leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday expressed concern that parts of Kashmir Valley could be tense in the wake of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani's death.

"If this is confirmed its big news & will also mean some tense days in parts of the valley," he tweeted after the news of the killing came in.

Wani, 22, was killed in a joint operation of the Indian Army and the state police on Friday in Kokernag in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, army officials said.

He was among the most wanted militants in Jammu and Kashmir.
