A Vietnamese student took inspiration from the work of two Indian design students and released a set of alphabets to promote his country, a media report said on Tuesday.

Luu Trong Nhan, 23, a student of the University of Finance-Marketing in Ho Chi Minh City, created a set of 29 alphabets under his "Vietnam Typo - Alphabet Project" to endorse his country's bewitching charm, Tuoitrenews.com news portal reported.

Nhan's work is adaptation of a project "Around the World with Type", that was created earlier this year by two design students from India, Rigved Sathe and Payal Jagwani.

In their project, the Indian duo incorporated the notable places of different cities around the world in 26 English alphabets.

Nhan got hooked on the idea and sought permission from Sathe and Jagwani for adaptation of their idea for his own work.

The Indian duo gave the go-ahead to Nhan and encouraged him to complete his design.

"Ideas kept crossing my mind, driving me to tirelessly work on the project for days on end," he recalled.

"I created the collection both to indulge in my graphic passion and to tap into social networks to promote Vietnam's tourism," Nhan added.

Based on an Indian model, the set has been chosen by many expatriates and travellers as an electronic guidebook.

In the project, Nhan blended the photos of Vietnam's places of interest with the 29 letters of the Vietnamese alphabet table with each letter standing for a spot that begins with or has the letter in its name.

For example, the letter C is associated with Con Dao Island, located off the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

"One of the toughest jobs was picking the best photos, as those available for use are too many and diverse to choose from," Nhan said

These 29 pictorial letters are arranged in the S shape - resembling the geography of Vietnam.
