Spanish football club Villarreal's chairman Fernando Roig confirmed on Tuesday that they have finalised the transfer of Italy's Sampdoria midfielder Roberto Soriano.
Roig explained that the Italian-German midfielder is currently in the Spanish town of Villarreal to conclude the deal, reports Efe.
The chairman pointed out that Soriano is "a great player" and is currently undergoing medical tests.
Roig added the player will join the training session with the rest of his teammates later on Tuesday and will be officially presented on Wednesday.
Soriano, who moved from Empoli to Sampdoria in 2010, is an attacking midfielder who can play in several positions in the field.
Although Roig did not disclose the details of the transfer, it is reported that Villarreal will pay 13.5 million euros ($15.1 million) to sign the 25-year-old player for five seasons.
