Villarreal's defender Mateo Musacchio underwent surgery on the fracture of his right wrist and will be out for the next six weeks, the Spanish football club announced on Tuesday.
The surgery was carried out on Tuesday at a medical centre in Valencia and the medical team at Villarreal confirmed that it was successful and the defender will be discharged within the next few hours, reports Efe.
The club also announced that the recovery period of the Argentine defender has gone from the five weeks originally planned to six.
Musacchio was injured last Sunday in the second half of the match between Villarreal and Barcelona, when he hurt his hand in a fall.
