Legendary musician A.R. Rahman's 'Vande Mataram Live-in-VR' Experience premieres at NFDC Film Bazaar here on the third day of the film extravaganza and, according to him, the new technology will help in musical experiments.
"Being a professional musician, after a certain point I tend to get bored unless there is a new challenge and room for experiment. The new technology of virtual reality will help to experiment in music to a different level," he told media.
Asked about what made him premiere 'Vande Mataram Live-in-VR' Experience here at NFDC Film Bazaar he said, "Well, it is a very interesting place."
One of the key highlights of this year's Film Bazaar was the Virtual Reality Sidebar, which included three Knowledge Series sessions dedicated to Virtual Reality. The sessions were conducted by independent transmedia writer/producer/director Michel Reilhac, Amsterdam-based Mirjam Vosmeer and Avinash Changa, who specialises in Digital Concepts and Production Techniques including Virtual Reality, 3D Animation and Augmented Reality.
Rahman, known for his intelligent use of technology, that changed the sound of Indian film music said that the new technology will offer a different experience to the listeners and we should not compare between actual music and virtual music.
"I think we should stop thinking from the technological aspects and enjoy the music," he said.
Rahman, who has collaborated with filmmaker Shankar for his upcoming directorial venture titled "2.0" was asked what happens when two perfectionists come together for an interesting project.
"You delay the project," he quipped.
