Chennai-based Vishnu Prasad of Meco Racing won four races in Senior Max category in the second round of the JK Tyre-FMSCI Rotax Max National Karting Championship here Sunday.

Krishnaraj Mahadik of Mohite's Racing won the Junior Max category and defending champion Pradyumn V. Danigund, also of Mohite's Racing, topped the Micro Max class.

Vishnu's vast karting experience came to the fore as he dominated the weekend, winning four consecutive races - Final, Pre-Final, Heat 1 and Heat 2.

In the Final race, he started on pole position and maintained his lead throughout the 25 laps leaving Round 1 winner Nayan Chatterjee (Rayo Racing), Chittesh Mondody (Mohite) and defending champion Ameya Bafna (Rayo Racing) to fight for the other two podium spots.

After five laps, Chittesh's kart broke down which forced him to quit the race while Bafna took the second spot ahead of teammate Nayan.

"It was the best weekend for me. The track is very fast but I just maintained my driving line. I think I'm in a good rhythm now. I only need to maintain the same for next rounds," Vishnu said.

In the Junior Max category, Mahadik started from second on the grid and after moving to the front, held off Tejas Ram (Meco Racing), who claimed second ahead of teammate Abhirath Shetty, who started ninth, overtook six racers to finish third.

Pole-sitter Mahaveer, who finished second, was given a seven-place penalty for cutting through the track.

In the Micro Max category, Round 1 winner Danigund continued his winning spree to take the top honours as he led the pack throughout the 15-lap race.

The final results:
