The National Commission for Scheduled Castes Sunday slammed yoga guru Ramdev for visiting the house of a teenaged girl, gang-raped by five constables of the Chandigarh Police.
Commission vice chairman Raj Kumar Verka said Ramdev had hurt the sentiments of the rape victim's family by visiting her home.
Verka who met the victim's family at an undisclosed location, said Ramdev's visit revealed the identity of the victim.
He directed the Chandigarh Police to submit a detailed report of the rape incident and the action taken to the commission at the earliest.
"Ramdev should not have gone to her house since her's is a sensitive issue," Verka told the media here.
Ramdev visited the victim's home Saturday and assured help.
The minor school girl had accused five Chandigarh Police constables of rape, molestation, criminal intimidation and harassment.
She claimed two of them raped her repeatedly and three others molested and harassed her, forcing her to have physical relations with them.
The victim's ordeal continued for nearly two months after she sought police help following a domestic fight in her house three months back.
