The proposed merger between Vodafone India, Vodafone Mobile Services and Idea Cellular which is expected to create India's largest telecom service provider has received the approval from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), stock market was intimated on Friday.
Accordingly, DoT has approved the merger of Vodafone India Limited (VIL) and Vodafone Mobile Services Limited (VMSL) with Idea Cellular.
"... The merger is now subject to National Company Law Tribunal, Mumbai Bench, passing the dissolution order of VMSL and VIL, which is expected shortly," Idea Cellular said in a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange on Friday.
