A 26-year-old woman, who Monday climbed atop a 200-feet mobile phone tower here protesting rape, Tuesday told a court that she was threatened to leave the city or face consequences worse than rape.

The woman from Kolkata Tuesday recorded her statement in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kumad Gugani.

She told IANS that a man named J.P. Walia (around 30 years old) raped her in his studio in Tikri area Sep 28 last year after befriending her.

She said Walia promised to marry her, and forced her to have sex with him on several occasions.

Later, Walia threatened her to leave the area, and said he would spread rumours that she was a prostitute, she said.

Walia also allegedly sent goons to her house to threaten her to leave Gurgaon or face consequences worse than rape.

"After that Walia's friends started following me. They pass lewd comments whenever I pass through the streets. I am slowly dying because of the harassment," the woman said.

The woman's younger sister alleged that Walia has "good links" with police and the media persons and he "will finish her at every level".

High drama was witnessed Monday when the woman climbed atop a 200-feet mobile phone tower in Gurgaon, alleging she was raped. She climbed down after four hours when a group of crows attacked her.

The woman is married but has been living separately from her husband for six years. She works as a domestic help and has been living in Tikri since September 2013.

Walia and five other people have been booked on charges of rape and other sections of the Indian Penal Code. However, no one has been arrested so far.
