Mark A. White has joined the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in India as the new Mission Director, it was announced on Tuesday.
He was sworn in on February 24 in Washington by USAID Acting Administrator Wade Warren.
An US embassy statement said White, a former US Peace Corp volunteer, had worked in over 30 countries across four continents.
He was earlier assigned to the US Army War College as a Professor -teaching a course in International Development - and worked on select peace-keeping and stability research topics.
He also served as the Acting Mission Director of USAID/Angola and Deputy Mission Director of USAID/Haiti in 2013-16.
