Actress Gauahar Khan says she has not been very regular with spa treatments and her beauty regime. And it's all in preparation for her role as a sex worker in "Begum Jaan", the Hindi remake of critically acclaimed women-centric Bengali film "Rajkahini".
She says she has started shooting for the film, in which she will be seen as one of the sex workers in a brothel and who becomes a victim of partition.
At a recent event here where she was present to unveil the cover of Asiaspa magazine, Gauahar said the role requires her not to follow her regular beauty regime.
"As my shoot is going on, I am not following the regular beauty care like going to the spa and all. The character I am portraying is needed to stay without these things. My director has strictly instructed me not to go through any kind of (beauty) process," she said.
"Begum Jaan" stars Vidya Balan in the title character. Its makers have also roped in Pallavi Sharda, Priyanka Setia, Flora Saini, Poonam Rajput, Ridhima Tiwari and Ravija Chauhan for the movie, which will even feature singer Ila Arun.
The movie's plot runs around a brothel located in West Bengal before India's Independence and how the partition of 1947 affects it. Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the period drama is produced by Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt.
Other than that, Gauahar will be seen in suspense thriller "Fever" opposite Rajeev Khandelwal. Directed by Rajeev Jhaveri, the film is scheduled to release on July 22.
