Wife, lover arrested for realtor's killing

The police on Wednesday announced the arrest of the wife of a property dealer who was murdered here three days ago. Her lover has also been taken into custody.

Dheeraj Singh was shot dead and his father Jagvir Singh was seriously wounded by unknown persons on the night of June 26 when they were watching television at their farm house.

Jagvir Singh is still battling for life.

Superintendent of Police Salman Taj Patil quoted Dheeraj Singh's uncle as saying that the attack was led by Jaideep Sirohi, Naresh, Bheekar and Babbal.

Police said the conspiracy was hatched by Dheeraj Singh's wife Preeti Singh and her lover Varun Singh, a cousin of Dheeraj Singh. Preeti Singh and Varun Singh were reportedly in a relationship.

The two planned to eliminate Dheeraj Singh so that Preeti Singh would be the sole heir to her husband's property.

Patel said the lovers had confessed their role in the crime. The police were now hunting for Jaideep Sirohi and his associates.
