A woman and her boyfriend have been arrested for murdering her husband after he objected to their relationship, police said on Friday.
Kajal and Vinay were arrested on Thursday in the death of Yogesh, said Deputy Commissioner of Police M.N. Tiwari.
Police said that on May 22, they had received a call saying Yogesh has hung himself at his house in Prem Nagar here.
"But the autopsy report revealed that he was strangled and we later filed an FIR based on it on June 13," a police officer told IANS.
During investigation, police uncovered the relationship between Kajal and Vinay, and they accepted it during interrogation, police said.
The duo said that Yogesh came to know about their relationship and opposed it. This prompted them to eliminate him so as to be able to live together, said police.
On May 22, they strangulated Yogesh and then hung his body from a ceiling fan to make it look like a suicide, police said.
