Singer, guitarist and songwriter Wilko Johnson, who was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer last year, is recording a new album.

The 66-year-old had refused to undergo chemotherapy to cure the cancer, and headed out on a farewell tour instead, reports contactmusic.com.

Johnson has been playing sporadic gigs at arts festivals in his native Britain throughout the summer.

"Sometimes I think, 'What's the point?' There are days when I feel really apathetic. But, yes, I think we'll get it finished at some point," Mojo magazine quoted Johnson as saying.
