Real Madrid's winger Gareth Bale has dismissed reports he could leave the team, insisting he would still be at the Spanish football club next season.

The 25-year-old joined Real Madrid in 2013 for a world-record 100 million euros, winning the Champions League in his first campaign in Spain but faced heavy criticism for a string of poor displays this season.

Reports have been rife that the Welshman may be on his way out of Madrid, with English club Manchester United being a potential candidate for a transfer but Bale has swiftly turned down those rumours.

"Of course, yes. I'm a Real Madrid player and I'll carry on as normal. I am enjoying it and hopefully I can continue to," Bale was quoted as saying by English tabloid The Sun on Saturday.

"I feel settled. I'm looking forward now to playing and winning more trophies. My goal is to keep improving, performing and to win as many titles as I can."

Bale also rejected the notion of a rift between himself and star striker Cristiano Ronaldo, adding: "It's rubbish. When you are on the pitch you try to help your team-mates as much as you can."

"People are trying to create problems which aren't there. It's good and normal in training and playing with Cristiano. You train with the best players and you try to improve as much as they do," he added.
