The Congress Friday asserted it will form governments in the five states going to polls in November-December.
"We welcome the announcement. These polls are important as they come before the 2014 Lok Sabha polls," Congress leader Rashid Alvi told IANS.
Stating that "the Congress will form government in all five states", he added: "The national issues won't have an impact in the state polls as local issues will be important there."
Polling will take place in Chhattisgarh Nov 11 and 19, while Madhya Pradesh will see a day's balloting Nov 25. Rajasthan will vote Dec 1, and Delhi and Mizoram on Dec 4. Votes in all five states will be counted Dec 8.
