A woman here committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan while leaving a video suicide note behind in her mobile phone, police Saturday said.
Police said Damini, 20, a Delhi University student, was depressed as her fiance, who was arrested for abatement to suicide, demanded a car in dowry.
She was found hanging inside a room in her home at Krishna Nagar area in east Delhi last Tuesday night. She was found hanging by her father, who is a journalist.
A two-line suicide note was found in which she stated that no one was responsible for her death. She committed suicide with her mobile phone recording the act.
Damini's family told police that she was depressed as her fiance demanded a Honda City car in dowry. They also informed that two neigbours used to stalk her, which was another reason of her depression.
