Xi's 4-point proposal for Asian peace, stability

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Saturday presented a four-point proposal to maintain peace and stability in Asia.

Xi said China and its neighbours shoulder a historic responsibility to maintain peace in the region, Xinhua news agency reported.

He called for efforts to safeguard peace and tranquillity, dovetail development strategies, expand security cooperation and cement people-to-people amity.

He made the remarks in an address at the National University of Singapore.
