Offering his condolences on the demise of legendary cricketer and commentator Richie Benaud, India's Test captain Virat Kohli described the Australian as one of those who could be recognised only by his voice.
Speaking at a promotional event for Midea air-conditioners here, Kohli said, "People related to Benaud quite a bit. There are very few voices in the commentary box whom you can listen to and tell their names. He was one of them."
The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper added Benaud's passing was a very sad moment for cricket lovers as he was an icon.
"I got to know this morning. It is a very sad day in cricket and for cricket lovers because he has been an iconic player and commentator over many years, it is like an icon going away. May his soul rest in peace."
Benaud died in Sydney on Thursday night at the age of 84.
