A teenager died after being injured in a clash with security forces here in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, officials said.
Gowhar Ahmad Dar, 18, was injured in a clash with security forces following a stone-pelting incident in Zainakote area of Srinagar district.
He was admitted with a head injury to the Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura.
Hospital sources said the youth succumbed to his critical injuries at the hospital despite the best efforts of doctors to revive him.
Reports from Zainakote said the teenager was hit by a tear gas shell on his head during protests in the area.
Police said the body has been handed over to his family for burial.
Clashes were still continuing between protesters and security forces.
