Indian tennis player Yuki Bhambri asserted his supremacy as he quelled the challenge of second seeded Evgeny Donskoy to lift the men's singles title at the $50,000 KPIT MSLTA ATP Challenger here on Saturday.
In the final, top seeded and 23-year-old Yuki registered a 6-2, 7-6(4) win in an hour and 15 minutes against 25-year-old Donskoy of Russia.
Yuki played fluently with a solid serve and volley game in the first set. In the second, he seemed out of sorts losing his serve early, but picked up his game midway and levelled the scores.
The Delhi player held on to his serves and forced a tie-break which he claimed rather easily.
Bhambri received $7200 and 80 world ranking Points which will propel him to around 82-90 in the world next week.
Donskoy who received $4240 and 48 points will also move into the top 100 with his performance here.
