Barbers at Tirupati will have to take a pretty big haircut if anecdotal tales are anything to go by. Devotees who get their heads tonsured at the temple town are known to leave pretty big tips with the barbers who do the holy deed for them. As part of the overall beefing up of security at the temple complex, the authorities have asked HCL Security to put CCTV cameras in the barber area and link this to a control room where they can be observed 24x7; it so happens that the rules prohibit barbers from accepting any token of gratitude.
