State Bank of India’s outgoing chairman O P Bhatt has got several leadership awards but his most creative leadership initiative seems to be the setting up of a State Bank Leadership Institute (SBLI) in Jaipur, of which he will remain a trustee even after retirement. The institute's foundation stone was laid by none other than Bhatt himself, in the presence of an RBI deputy governor and then Union finance secretary Ashok Chawla, who will also be an SBLI board member. Interestingly, the SBI website provides no information about SBLI and the only information on the net is that Bhatt laid the foundation stone.
