Demonetisation rules the roost

Demonetisation seems to have overshadowed every other news these days. So much so that ministers making big-bang announcements are slipping in an ardent request to journalists to “cover” these developments, too.

At a press conference on energy efficiency, Piyush Goyal, minister of state for coal, power, mines and new and renewable energy, told his audience: “I would request you people to focus on the announcement (he made about NTPC replacing its old power units ). Just because I talked about demonetisation, that should not be the headline.” 

A guest was heard saying, “Sir, chalega toh demonetisation hi (sir, it is demonetisation that will grab the attention).”
