Diwala to Diwali

President Pratibha Patil was given the first copy of the book Bankruptcy to Billions, on the turnaround of the Railways under Railway Minister Lalu Prasad. The book has been written by Prasad’s Officer on Special Duty Sudhir Kumar along with Shagun Mehrotra. Since the book is very laudatory of the progress made under Prasad, it is going to be published in more than a dozen languages — editions in four languages, including English, are already out. At the function at the Rashtrapati Bhawan, Prasad spoke of how the book was going to be out in several languages and suggested the authors ensure there’s a Bhojpuri edition as well (since that’s what people in his constituency understand!). Always ready with smart lines, Prasad told the audience the Hindi edition which would soon be out would be titled Diwale se Diwali tak (From Bankruptcy to the festival Diwali)!
