Eager to please

Shareholders often go overboard praising their company chiefs, especially those who are known to do good work. A shareholder with a similar bent of mind was spotted at the Indian Hotels EGM. He began by wishing Tata Sons Interim Chairman Ratan Tata on his birthday, saying that it falls on December 22. When some other shareholders tried correcting him — that the birth date is December 28 — he took umbrage and asked them to shut up. An amused Tata looked on.
