There may be respite for hotels worried about cancellations by foreign tourists during the Commonwealth Games. Some news channels are booking hotels near their offices for about 15 days during the Games. Media houses have told their staff to shift to these hotels for the duration of the Games if they think they may face problems coming to the office owing to the Games-related traffic jams. All leave has been cancelled, however, and media staff staying in the hotels will have to be available 24X7. Some bachelors living in rented accommodation in Delhi are happy because it’ll reduce their monthly expenses, but others are worried that they won’t have an excuse for not showing up at the office.
