Which is the green ministry at the Centre? If you say Mamata Banerjee-led Railways, even Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh may not be able to deny this. That’s because Banerjee’s ministry is infamous for transforming its events into promos for the Trinamool Congress, which has green as official colour. Now it seems Minister of State for Shipping Mukul Roy is emulating his Trinamool boss. During the recent inauguration of work at Sagar Port in West Bengal, Roy made sure his ministry was a lookalike of a railways’ event. From the stage to placards to the Kolkata Port Trust rest house, the venue was green, compelling an onlooker to ask whether Writers’ Buildings (the seat of the West Bengal government) would turn from red to green if Trinamool is elected to power.
