The finance ministry doesn’t seem to have digested the fact that Pranab Mukherjee has moved to Rashtrapati Bhavan, just a few metres down the road. A conference room in North Block, which hosted many Groups of Minister meetings when Mukherjee was in harness, still has photos of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former President Pratibha Patil. Maybe new incumbent P Chidambaram will take time out from his busy catch-up meetings this weekend to replace the photograph.
