Many in the Congress may not like Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee. And, many leaders in the West Bengal unit of the Congress would love to dominate her party, which is not happening. Even if a section of the Congress is opposed to her, Banerjee still enjoys tremendous rapport with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. This bonhomie was visible in the last two programmes of the railway minister outside Kolkata. Gandhi was present along with Banerjee to flag off the Red Ribbon Express (special train for AIDS awareness) in New Delhi. Gandhi also inaugurated 12 new trains from Kanpur. At Kanpur, Gandhi even praised Banerjee for being a fighter.
