First-time MP from the Trinamool Congress, Kalyan Banerjee, had a brush with VIP security the other day. He was coming to Parliament, only to find the road cordoned off for the Prime Minister’s cavalcade. He argued with the policemen saying he too was headed for Parliament. The policemen were sympathetic but didn’t budge, telling him that the road would be blocked in advance for him as well once he became PM, but till then he would have to wait. Banerjee then went back to his room in the capital’s Banga Bhawan and refused to talk to the TV crew waiting for him. The journalists finally tried to barge in, only to be told ‘I will not say anything’.
