Letters: Pakistan's face off

The US operation against Osama Bin Laden could not have been executed without the covert support of Pakistan. The latter, which has been following the policy of running with the hares and hunting with the hounds as far as its relationship with terror groups are concerned, must no doubt have been cornered by the US with incontrovertible evidence about the location of bin Laden and left with no choice but to cooperate. If this marks the beginning of the end of its dual policy, then it should be supported in its endeavours. But if it is just a one-off show to please the US, then it is for the US and other countries to pressure Pakistan to dismantle the terror set-up that elements in the country have been encouraged to build.
