The last hasn’t been heard on Trinamool Congress MP Kabir Suman’s resignation. While the Parliamentary process requires an MP to send a letter to either the Speaker or Deputy Speaker in a prescribed format, Suman resigned by sending an SMS to party chief Mamata Banerjee. The party was quick to write to the Speaker citing Suman’s SMS, but it appears the Speaker will not act upon the SMS. So, Suman’s resignation will have to be sent in writing.
