A handshake at Fortaleza prompted a flurry of activity in New Delhi and Mumbai. The meeting between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the distant Brazilian city ahead of the BRICS summit last week saw the book launch and conference circuit in both Indian cities go into overdrive. Soon after the two leaders met, there were at least two book launches themed on the potential of India-China trade ties, and the cocktail circuit saw a flurry of invitations from industry chambers for discussions on the same topic and, more specifically, what the handshake meant for Indian business and businessmen.
