It was his dream project - a film on the life of the Buddha. B K Modi, businessman and Buddhism expert, was in talks with the likes of Richard Gere, one of the several celebrity followers of the Dalai Lama, and preacher-at-large Deepak Chopra for the venture. He had even shifted residence to Beverly Hills for a while. But the film made no progress. Gowarikar has made hit films like Lagaan and Jodha Akbar. Will he be able to deliver the goods for Modi too?
