Jayalalithaa’s properties in Tamil Nadu will vest with Sasikala, it seems. But the former Tamil Nadu chief minister also owned three properties in Hyderabad — two plots of agricultural land and a commercial complex. The properties are valued at around Rs 50-70 crore. In her affidavit to the Election Commission before her bypoll from R K Nagar in 2015, the value of these assets were pegged at Rs 19.48 crore. And there are other undeclared assets as well. The agricultural property is a grape garden in Medchel near Hyderabad. Jayalalithaa extended this by buying another adjoining property for Rs 20,000. In addition, Jayalalithaa along with her mother bought commercial property in Srinagar Colony adjoining Banjara Hills. This property is around 14,000 sq feet in area. All these purchases were made in the late 1960s from her earnings from films. What will happen to them now?
