Web portal 'mediasarkar.com', which conducted a sting operation on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates, on Wednesday filed a criminal defamation case against Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, and four others.

CEO of mediasarkar.com, Anuranjan Jha said that AAP leaders are trying to malign his image and career by using objectionable language.

"We have filed a criminal defamation case in the Patiala House Court against five leaders of AAP including Kumar Vishwas Arvind Kejriwal, Shazia Ilmi, Manish Sisodia and Yogendra Yadav,' he said.

"The language used by them against us is highly objectionable and disappointing. They made baseless accusations against me, and even alleged that I took Rs 12 crore to do the sting on the AAP candidates in Delhi elections," he added.

Earlier on November 24, AAP gave clean chit to eight of its candidates accused of malpractice in a sting operation, stating that the CD was doctored.

The party accessed raw footage of the sting operation from the Election Commission.

"I am proud that after reviewing the entire footage every candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party has come out clean and with honesty," AAP leader Yogendra Yadav said.

He also said the statements of their candidates were taken out of context.

"This is fraud. This is doctoring. This statement has been taken out of the context," he added.

A controversial sting operation has alleged that several AAP leaders, at least eight of them, were contacted for their help in the recovery of money from individuals and getting land deals done, and they readily agreed to extend their support in return for donations in cash to the Aam Aadmi Party.
