Alleging that the ruling Samajwadi Party and the BJP had tacit understanding in Uttar Pradesh, the Bahujan Samaj Party today said both were trying to vitiate the atmosphere in the state.

"Both VHP and SP leaders sit together and hold meeting at Chief Minister's residence, give statement to the media that talks were good and try to vitiate the atmosphere," BSP general secretary Satish Chandra Misra told a public meeting here.

Mishra was referring to VHP leader Ashok Singhal's meeting with SP leaders at the official residence of the Chief Minister in Lucknow last year.
