Chandy rules out his resignation

Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy today ruled out his resignation, unless the Congress High command directs him to step down.

Addressing the media in Thiruvananthapuram, he said both the Congress party and the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) had faith in him and there was no need to step down for him on baseless allegations raised by the Opposition parties.

"Nobody can topple the UDF ministry. No party or MLA from the UDF will create a chance to topple the ministry," he added.

Finance minister KM Mani and his party strongly supported the government and this would continue in future also. The move of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) to make a new cabinet under the leadership of Mani would not be fruitful, he said

The Opposition is cooking up stories for breaking news and for making noisy scenes in the Assembly, he said, adding, there were some serious issues with the administration and the UDF and those would be resolved soon.

The government was ready to review the CCTV visuals of the CM's office by an expert committee in which the Opposition could suggest one expert. But the LDF was not willing, he alleged.
