Congress is not trying to study the lessons from the history, but only spending or rather wasting its energy on satisfying the minority religions of the country. Congress party hitherto had a strategy that minority vote banks plus 20-30% of the votes of the majority communites, especially Hindus, will ensure them victory. This is their vote bank strategy for the last six decades. Because of the disunity among the Hindu communities in India this worked out well and they had the opportunity to seat on the helm of affairs of the country for a long period. The political think tank of the party is still depending on this strategy, even in the highly corrupted UPA-11 mechanism.
In the past Congress had at least one charismatic leader like Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi. So this strategy plus the charismatic leader and some sops to the poor worked put very well. Unfortunately Congress party has no such leader, presently. Everybody in the country has seen the pathetic performance of Rahul Gandhi in the election campaigns. Sonia Gandhi and Mammohan Singh are big failures as they don’t’ know the grass root levels of Indian Politics.
In a situation like this Narendra Modi clearly edges out. What is the basic reason behind this? It is nothing but the caliber of a seasoned politician. Indian political parties, especially Congress should understand this fact that simply western education does not go parallel to the knowledge on the grass root level of the society. Here comes the big difference between Modi and Rahul Gandhi. A man who emerges out only because of his hierarchy in no way match with a person who comes the railway pantry. Also Jyothiradithya Scindia is now where a change for Ashok Gehlot and a match for rather seasoned Vashudhara Raje.
Normally there is an apprehension that BJP and Congress are the two sides of a coin in the case of corruption. True, but on two scores people can’t believe Congress, Huge, bombarding corruptions by the UPA government during last five years. The Congress party can not even raise a corruption charge against Modi as the chief minister of Gujarat for the last 11 years. This is a big difference when the people think about their new prime minister.
Although BJP has all the minus points as the Congress has, they have loyalty to the nation, its culture and commitment towards mother India. But for the last 10 years Congress clearly proved that they have no commitment to the nation, but only towards corruption. The life of the people of India became miserable under the prime ministership of Manmohan Singh, especially with the price escalation during last 2-3 years. Confusion over subsidies, Adhaar card and major policy shifts like Food Security made the state of the people very pathetic. The government is a big failure on controlling the parallel economy of the country, which is even stronger that the official economy. It also failed to unearth the back money, regulating black marketing, hoarding and in releasing the unaccounted money in the overseas banks, especially in the Swiss Banks. Chidambaram was active only in criticising D Subba Rao for all his failures. Think of that what Chidambaram could do with Raghuram Rajan?
Why he is not criticising Raghuram Rajan who adopts the line of failed Subbarao? So it is not the Reserve Bank which brings in progress to the economy, but the political governance, Reserve Bank is only a catalyst, not a creator.
What happened in New Delhi, why the pathetic plight of Congress there? Why Rahul’s campaigns failed miserably? Think it over. Leaders like P Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal and Sharad Pawar have became liability to the UPA. Now the miserable fact is that Congress is not having even single leader who can address the nation. Just holding name of Gandhi or campaigning that he/she is from Nehru family does not work now. Modi speaks in a mode that is accepted by the people, but Rahul trying it out just as drama, that is the big difference between the two leaders. It’s really a big task for Congress in the coming parliament elections that is the indications of the mini national elections. Unless there is some miracle or a war with Pakistan, Congress defeat is inevitable and rather sure.
