India has been experiencing a severe crisis of inflation which the Congress workers have been attempting to highlight, party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi said here on Saturday.
Gandhi was in this city in Uttar Pradesh to meet his party worker Meena Verma, who sustained burn injuries during a demonstration against rising prices on Wednesday.
He visited Verma's home here and enquired about her recovery.
"The Congress workers would continue to struggle against rising prices and communalism and be active on other issues," Gandhi said.
As Gandhi left the place, some local residents gathered and started shouting slogans against him for not listening to what they had to tell him.
They said they wanted to tell the Congress leader about the murder of a man in the area three days ago and that no one has so far been arrested by the police.
They shouted 'Narendra Modi Zindabad' and torched a few hoardings welcoming Rahul Gandhi to Ghaziabad.
