Governor forwards Kejriwal's resignation to president

Kejriwal resigned as legislators defeated his attempts to introduce Jan Lokpal bill

Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung has forwarded the resignation of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to President Pranab Mukherjee, an official said Saturday.

Forty-nine days after he took charge of a minority Delhi government, Kejriwal Friday resigned following a tumultuous day in the assembly where combined Congress and BJP legislators "defeated" his AAP's attempts to introduce Jan Lokpal bill aimed to curb corruption in high places.
