India and the US are in discussions over a liberalised visa regime, National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon said on Friday.

Asked if India and the US favour visa on arrival, Menon merely said that both sides were looking at a liberalised visa regime.

"Negotiations are going on... We are trying to find ways to do it," he said during a talk organised by the Aspen Institute India here.

He said: "We have a different system, they have a different system. We are trying to align it... We will get there."
