Taking umbrage at the alleged beating of an RSS worker by police in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district, BJP National General Secretary Kailash Vijaywargiya has questioned how the bureaucracy got so bold and termed the assault as an "unpardonable" act.

The RSS has, meanwhile, called for a bandh in Balaghat district on Thursday in protest against the incident.

"Naukarshahi ki itni himmat???Balaghat me RSS karyalay me zila pracharak ji ke sath maarpeet akshamya hai," (how did the bureaucracy get so bold? Entering an RSS office and beating a pracharak is an unpardonable act), Vijaywargiya tweeted last evening on the incident.

Earlier, two police officers attached to Baihar police station in Balaghat district were suspended for allegedly beating up RSS pracharak Suresh Yadav (28), who was arrested for posting objectionable comments on AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

The police, after receiving a complaint that Yadav had posted some comments about Owaisi on WhatsApp, brought him to Baihar police station on the evening of September 25.

Yadav escaped and hid in the nearby house of Swami Prasad Asati. However, police caught him and brought back to the station. After grilling him, they booked him under IPC section 295 (a) (outraging religious feelings).

He was allegedly beaten up brutally in police custody.

State Home Minister Bhupendra Singh and Agriculture Minister Gaurishanker Bisen yesterday met Yadav in hospital.

Meanwhile, the RSS has given a bandh call in Balaghat district tomorrow in protest against the incident.
